The Late CheckoutsThanks to some scheduling concerns, the first trivia session of the night happened on a Tuesday and with only two players. Senior TLC members Cassidy and John got 2022 off to a great start with a 7th place finish on a busy night along with getting TWO bonus question rewards. A reminder that January 4th is National Trivia Day so that is a good day to head out to your local bar and participate in some knowledge testing.

The final quiz night of 2021. As you would expect, it was very sparsely attended with only 4 teams competing on the evening. TLC got off to a bit of a slow start but jokered an almost perfect round 2 to take the lead and never look back. With just 4 members tonight, it was a team effort so MVP honors are shared all around. The Late Checkouts finish 2021 having won 6 of the last 7 trivia contest at Ozzie’s. What will 2022 bring for the team? We’re all excited to find out!

Another Wednesday, another win for TLC. A tough night across the board for all teams, as the winning score would indicate. Still, despite the struggles and only having 4 players, The Late Checkouts prevailed for the 4th out of the last 5 weeks. Is there a Christmas miracle in store for next week?

Another 1st place finish this week which makes 3 out of the last 4 weeks for TLC. An almost wire-to-wire win with just a small stumble and a 7-point opening round keeping that from happening. Solid participation across the team this week except when it came to the eating of the nachos. That was all Jarred.

After a holiday break, the main team was back together and managed their way to a 2nd place finish. There was a clear divide between the top two teams and the rest of the field. The MVP of the night for TLC was David. Watch out for John, though, getting two movie questions right. Is this the dawn of a new era?

A little pre-Thanksgiving quizzing to get the holiday brain juices flowing. Lead from start to finish only to have to enter a tie-breaker. Thanks to the UConn Women’s Basketball team, another first-place victory.

A busy night in LQA as this was the first time a Kraken home game happened on a Wednesday evening. Definitely a different crowd to start but the usual suspects settled in up in the balcony for a good night of quizzing. While the whole team was not together, a very solid first-place showing.

The gang was finally back together after a couple of weeks apart. However, even with the lucky yellow sweater, having Jarred and Julie back on the team wasn’t enough to build on the success of the previous week. TLC finished outside of the money in 4th place, the worst outing at Ozzie’s so far.

A rare Saturday night quiz as Jarred and Julie took part in Austin, TX at Cherrywood Coffeehouse. A little different than the normal environment as this was outside and 26 teams participated. The two captains held their own against some larger teams and ended up in an impressive 7th place.

With the captains away for the wedding of TLC alumnus Chloe, senior members Cassidy and John took the reins and led the assembled team to a 2nd place finish.
